Logging into Blackboard
Go to blackboard.sc.edu (no www)

Use your USC Network Username and Password (also used for USC email)

What is my USERNAME?
Use your USC Network Username and Password (also used for USC email)

Login to VIP https://vip.sc.edu with your SSN (social security number) or VIP ID number and a four digit numerical pin.

If you have never logged in to VIP before, your PIN number will be the four digit number that corresponds to the month and day of your birthday.  

Note:  There is an option to set up and use a VIP ID that is not your SSN.  You will see it at the VIP login site.  This VIP ID is not your Blackboard username.

(Don’t know your PIN? Students should contact the Registrar's Office; faculty and staff should contact your departmental Human Resources Representative)

Click on the Technology link on the blue menu on the left.

Click on Show Me Network Username
This is the username for USC email and Blackboard, and for faculty and staff Groupwise mail.

What is my PASSWORD?
Your password does not exist until you set it up in VIP

To SET YOUR PASSWORD:

Password restrictions: Must be at least eight characters, cannot contain your user id, and must meet at least three of the following:

• One or more lowercase alphabetic characters (a-z)
• One or more uppercase alphabetic characters (A-Z)
• One or more numeric characters (0-9)
• One or more special characters (!@#$%^&*-+= etc)

Why am I getting an ERROR?
Your password expires every SIX MONTHS after you set it.

Your USC Network Username will be displayed - RESET PASSWORD BELOW USERNAME
You must type in the password twice to verify your choice.
Click on the SET PASSWORD button to set your new password.

Blackboard, Groupwise, or USC email.
