The Teaching and Technology Services Instructional Designer works with all USC faculty to assist them with innovative and evolving instructional technology uses for their traditional courses as well as hybrid or distance education courses.
This assistance includes:
1) determining an appropriate mix of technologies for course delivery to facilitate learning,
2) consulting with faculty on developing high-quality courses based on best practices,
3) incorporating assessment practices, and
4) incorporating appropriate pedagogical advice on teaching methods.
Examples of some typical consultation topics might include: when and how to include
technologies such as Blackboard, Adobe Connect, and video or audio, strategies to improve online discussion, and suggestions for the design of instructional activities.
Consultations and training can be conducted in a group setting, workshops, seminars or on an one-to-one basis. Whether you are a
teaching assistant, full-time or adjunct faculty, your instructional designer is here to help you in your teaching endeavors!
