University Technology Services offers a variety of services to help you design, build, secure, and maintain your network infrastructure. We also offer data backup and expanded storage options.

Physical Server Hosting

A physical server from UTS can provide application, database, and file and print services to your network. UTS hosts these servers in our Data Center, where they physically secure, protected behind UTS security systems, and maintained on our enterprise power grid.

We provide the following services for Physical Server Hosting:

• 24x7 monitoring of performance, including power and connection systems
• UTS Help Desk priority service
• Troubleshooting and maintenance (regular upgrades and patches)
• Disk space up to 100GB (additional storage available)
• Scheduled daily and weekly backups up to 100GB (additional storage available)
• Data security and confidentiality

Physical server hosting from UTS is only $735 per month for each server. This fixed expenditure rate helps you consistently budget your IT costs, and offers substantial savings over having to own and maintaining your own units. We also offer affordable options for additional storage and backup, so your server system can grow with your organization.

Virtual Server Hosting

UTS maintains advanced server systems that have the power and speed to host multiple operating systems on a single physical platform. This allows our network engineers to create multiple "virtual servers" on a single computing system - reducing equipment and maintenance costs. We can pass these savings on to you by offering virtual server hosting - a cost effective alternative to physical server systems.

Virtual servers are as secure and reliable as physical servers, have data access times that are equal to or faster than traditional systems, and can be created, transferred, or restored in a fraction of the time. More importantly, virtual servers can be tailored - and priced -to your organization's specific needs.

Whether you are looking for a small, single application server or a powerful enterprise level production server, our UTS can bring your virtual server to online quickly. And because virtual servers are scalable, you can change the configuration at any time to meet new requirements.

Virtual server pricing begins at only $60 per month. You can choose from three tiers of service and multiple memory and storage configurations. All virtual servers are protected behind proven UTS firewalls, are performance monitored 24x7, and include daily (incremental) and weekly (full) backups. Data Backup Services

University Technology Services offers data backup services to University of South Carolina colleges, departments, and organizations. Data can be backed up from either a server stored on your site, or in the secure UTS Data Center (server service level agreement required). Standard backup is up to 100Gb, but can be tailored to your needs. All data backup services include:

• Incremental (daily) and full (weekly) backups, with full duplicates stored a secure offsite facility (retention for 30 days)
• Daily backups done during off hours (6PM thru 8AM)
• Data backup reporting
• Performance monitoring, troubleshooting and routine/diagnostic services
• Data Restoration services at $75 per hour (minimum 1 hr. charge)

Data Storage Services

Data Storage requirements for your organization may continue to grow, often requiring substantial investment in new equipment and space. UTS can make secure data storage easy and affordable process with our Storage Area Network services.

We can provide you with high-speed access to our storage area network - housed in the secure UTS Data Center and monitored 24x7. Standard storage is up to 512Gb, but can be expanded to your needs.

All data storage services include:

• High speed fiber connections to storage servers, housed in the secure UTS Data Center.
• Tier One (frequent access) and tier two (archived) storage available at tiered pricing
• Data backup on incremental (daily) and full (weekly) schedule
• Performance monitoring, troubleshooting and routine/diagnostic services
• Data Restoration services at $75 per hour (minimum 1 hr. charge)
