University Technology Services maintains the University's mainframe enterprise system, which runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. During official University holidays, the centralized computing systems are operational, but operator-specific services are not available.

Production Control

The Production Control group offers services for batch processing jobs through the University mainframe system, as well as mainframe use scheduling and other services:

• Batch Job Scheduling - schedules are set according to specifications from the the programming staff, and requests from offices
• Coordinating Mainframe Resources - scheduling system use with University offices in conjunction with existing workloads
• Defining New Batch Applications - new batch job applications and revision of existing applications
• Submission and Monitoring - all batch jobs are monitored by mainframe staff
• Quality Control and Verification - data output accuracy is monitored by staff
• Problem Resolution - working with end users, programming staff, and operations personnel

Job Submission

Authorized requestors may submit batch job requests via email , fax, or IMS:

All job requests must be received before 4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday, in order to be scheduled for a batch run that evening.

Job requests scheduled through IMS must be submitted before 2:00 PM in order to run that evening.
